These printers use dynamic safety measures to block cartridges with other chips or electronic circuits. Regular firmware updates maintain the effectiveness of these measures and block previously functioning cartridges. Remanufactured HP chips and electronic circuits allow the use of reused, refilled or remanufactured cartridges.
